Cathie Archbould
Acclaimed photographer and photojournalist Cathie Archbould creates strong vivid images of Canada, with a passionate eye for the people and land. With 17 years of experience in corporate, commercial, industrial and editorial photography, Cathie has developed a reputation for capturing the essence of the natural and built environment. Cathie maintains homes in both Victoria and Whitehorse, and locates easily to destinations anywhere between southern BC and the Beaufort Sea.
Cathie’s work is a study in extremes: one week she’s shooting the 1000 mile Yukon Quest International Dog Sled Race in minus 50 degree weather, the next she’s flying to an oil rig in the Western Artic and shortly thereafter she’s in Victoria, capturing Queen Elizabeth and her corgis at the Commonwealth Games.
Her vast experience spans location and site work, portraits and landscapes, commercial and industrial documentation, creative advertising campaigns, annual reports and aerial photography. In addition, Cathie has provided photos for Canada’s leading newspapers, including the Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star, Vancouver Sun and several smaller papers, including the Victoria Times Colonist, Yukon News and the Whitehorse Star.
Cathie is an avid outdoor type who enjoys extreme hiking, camping, canoeing and wildlife spotting. Most of her stock photos are captured on these adventures.
Cathie’s finely honed project management skills enable her to deliver on-time and on-budget – every time. To discuss your next project or to arrange a photo assignment, contact Cathie.
